Does anybody know how many different ways there are to shorten the name Elizabeth? I'll start:
Beth
Bis
Biz
Liz
Lizzy
Betty
Betsy
E-Beth
Eli
I know there's more.

I'm sorry!
I would like to take this time to apologize to all of my loyal fans. I'm sorry that I haven't written in a really long time. At the moment, its a little difficult to write this because Safari shuts down every time I hit delete. Its making me paranoid that I'll type something incorrectly and I won't be able to fix it. Hopefully I can type this blog perfectly so I don't lose it. Here is a list of the things I want right now. (Not the things I need, the things I WANT.)
a kalidescope
a necklace that looks like this: http://www.imooi.com/index.php
Asics
and also these shoes: http://www.shoestation.com/shoestation/product.asp?dept_id=3163&pf_id=PAAAAAJHNLPPDGAK&
and a pair of black boots too
I'd also like some astronaut ice cream
a Whirly-Pop
a queen size bed in stead of this California King that takes up too much room
new kitchen rug
frames to hang up cool art
...That might be it...for now. (Remember that I cannot hit the delete key in case there are any errors. I normally go through 2 or three rounds of editing and proofreading but tonight, I cannot.)

The Car
Right now my list is long and miserable. Due to the incident that happened on Monday to our car I have to sort everything out and deal with insurance and stuff. Dealing with dental insurance at work is one thing but dealing with it when its my own car is a little bit stressful. So, within the next week but ideally sooner I need to:
Go to the collision center and take the plates off of the car
Find the title
Get the car towed
Send the license plates and repair reciepts to Romney
Bring the title to a guy named Clint who will give me $100 for it
Get Jake's car back to him that he SO kindly lent to us...Kenzy and Ad couldn't get to college w/o it
Have McKenzie call Geico (did you get that Kenz?)
Finish reading To Kill A Mockingbird because its keeping me sane
Calm Down!!
So that's it. But also I'd like to take this moment to spread what might be a rumor but if not, you should know: Police are giving out fines for people driving and talking on cell phones at the same time. Of course its something you shouldn't do in the first place but if you're like me and are really good at mulit-tasking then you might rationalize and think that you shouldn't get fined. Lets all cooperate and buy hands free accessories or pay the ($50) fine. Because nobody thinks that just not talking on their cell phones is an option.

A few weeks ago my mom saw a school bus drive by...and none of her kids were on it. This is the end of an era. My youngest brother Adam is starting college and the Moon Area School District is void of any Haglund kids after 22 years!!!. So now, as Adam goes off to college at Brigham Young University in Idaho, the sibilings have gathered up some advice for him. This advice may be added onto at anytime, and MUST be followed...or else.
Floss daily. -Brook (...If you have time. -Lex)
No back scratching in church. -Brook (!! -Lex)
Don't miss class just 'cause you don't know where it is, ask! -Brook
Be nice to Kenzy. -Brook
...Kenzy be nice to Adam. -Lex
Eat good, healthy food--you CAN afford it. -Brook
*Addendum: Don't eat bowl cake for every meal. -Lex
Go to FHE and other ward activities--just make the best of it! (plus there's always free food!) -Lex
Make friends at these activities that have similiar likes and interests (and that have a sweet video game system). -Linwood
Do you dishes and clean so the roommates don't hate you. -Kenz
Study as much as you can in the library to be most productive (but not on the 3rd floor aka the singles bar of ID). -Kenz
Ask your teachers for help--go to their office or get tutoring--its free! -Kenz
Be a good hometeacher--the girls will love you and bake for you. -Kenz ..and maybe even date you. -Lex
Don't hide in your room, go to the gym, library, etc. -Kenz
Get involved in intramurals--especially if they have ultimate frisbee! -Kenz
Go to devotionals on Tuesdays. It is a nice break and the cool thing to do. -Kenz
Be nice to girls -ask them out if you want- they are always flattered! -Kenz
Don't get too behind on HW, studying, etc-so you can stay sane! -Kenz
Don't let the seasonal onset depression set in during winter. -Kenz
Buy a calling card and call us anytime! -Brook
VISIT US -All of us
Adam, its gonna be great and you'll do very well. We love you!

Today I'm doing laundry, going to the grocery store and cleaning. Cleaning is so overwhelming for me because I never just straighten up, when I clean I disinfect everything, spray the bathroom down with bleach, and today I even scrubbed those little tray things under the burners on the stove. Since I wait so long between cleanings, these things are usually necessary. Amidst all of my stuff, I found a list I made recently that we'll call:
colors that don't sound like colors
gamboge
viridian
aureolin
juane brilliant
oxide of chromium
caput mortum
brown pink (it is neither brown nor pink)
asphaltum
vermillion
rosso veneto
stil de grain
turkey umber
madder lake
So what do these colors actually look like? I was going to post the answers, but I think you should go to your local Utrecht Art Supplies store and ask an associate.

The Dentist is In
I planned on posting yesterday, I really did. At about 7:30 the power went out which knocked out the internet. It didn't come back on until after 10 and since 30 Rock and The Office came out on DVD yesterday, that's what occupied my time until about 12:30. Today the list at hand is what I'm going to do after I write this blog.
I'm working at the dentist's office so here's what I have to do:
-Process monthly payments
-Pull charts for tomorrow
-Confirm appointments for tomorrow
-Return messages
-Problem box (it is as miserable as it sounds)
-Three weekly reports
-Mail
-Prepare deposit
-Stamp checks
Save the worst for last:
-Track down insurance claims that have not been paid on in at least 3 months. By law insurance is supposed to respond within 30 days but the laws don't really apply to them most of the time. So its my job to mail/fax claims to them over and over again until they finally pay.
I seriously love this job but reading that list, I have no idea why.

Happy Labor Day
I'm still trying to be diligent about this blog thing. I don't think it will be a daily ritual necessarily because I do have other things to do...usually. Today my list is a little less fun and a bit more purposeful. I really need to plan my week and this is how I do it. This week I need to:
Go to Thrift Town (50% off Labor Day)
Have a BBQ (also on Labor Day)
Put away the dishes
Do the laundry
Make dinner at least once (mostly because we're running out of cereal and PastaRoni)
Finish a painting
Wash the car...for the last time because we get a new one on Saturday
Work
Throw away our dead plant and replace it (*don't kill the next one)
Clean the apartment really well because we'll be having guests! (mom, kenz, adam)
Be a better person.
That about sums up the week I think. Not too daunting.

concerts:
I am working on a list of concerts I've been to, but it isn't ready yet. Here's a list of concerts I almost went to and missed them for some reason.
The Rentals...twice
They just toured recently but I was kind of touring the country at the same time. They played in SLC right after I left for Pittsburgh and then played a show in Pittsburgh a few days after I left and headed back to SLC. Bummerfest. My brother and friends saw them in Pittsburgh and Philladelphia.
Peter Bjorn & John
I was running late and couldn't find a parking spot...but the concert was free so no excuse is a good excuse.
Beastie Boys/Rage Against the Machine
They toured the summer of 2000 together. I spent $70 on a ticket and Mike D...or maybe it was Ad Rock got into a bike accident and broke his shoulder or something. The tour was cancelled and my dreams were broken.
The Mollies http://www.myspace.com/themolliesmusic
This is a local band that makes some beautiful music. We were on our way to see them and took our time getting there. We arrived just as the band AFTER them began to play. We haven't made it out to see them since.
The Flaming Lips
They played in Ohio the fall of 2002...right after I had moved to Utah which happens to be nowhere near Ohio. Brian went and had a chat with Wayne Coyne.
All Tomorrow's Parties Festival including:
Explosions in the Sky
J Mascis + The Fog
Lou Reed
Lungfish
Modest Mouse
The Black Heart Procession
The Walkmen
Wolf Parade
Sufjan Stevens
The Buff Medways featuring Billy Childish
White Hassle
White Magic
Willy Mason
Built to Spill
Constantines
Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks
The Cramps
The Flaming Lips
The Shins
Eagles of Death Metal
Love As Laughter
Magic Magicians
Peaches
Radar Brothers
Those Peabodys
What happened here? Last minute I decided that I just didn't feel like driving to California. I had bought the tickets. They were very pricey and I bought two, one for me and one for a friend (who I later ended up marrying so its okay). This decision will end up on a list of regrets but I have since seen a few of the bands.
There are probably more but I guess theses are the ones that I dwell on the most.
